The President Welcomes Families of Shot National Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

Presidential Call

The president stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both members of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president addressed journalists. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Reaction

Community members gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her alma mater, told the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy led the government to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed the program that she also intended to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
